Tolerances, coating and insulation
Our standard dimensional tolerance on cut cores is ±0.1 mm on OD, ID and height. Epoxy coating (typically 0.2–0.5 mm) provides edge insulation for winding and protects against corrosion; PBT cases are used where the core is potted or handled in high-volume assembly.
Coating options
Epoxy powder coating, tape wrapping, PBT casing, or bare core with taped edges. Specify withstand voltage and operating temperature.
FAQ
Does coating change the magnetic properties?
Coating itself does not, but the heat applied during curing can slightly change loss. We anneal before coating to keep properties stable.
